A Fijian front rower is set to make a play for a spot in the 2016 Southland Stags squad.
Fijian international Peni Ravai is expected to soon join the Woodlands club in Southland in a quest to play in New Zealand's provincial competition this year.
Ravai started his rugby career as an outside back before being moved into the forwards where he can cover both prop and hooker.
He is regarded as a ball‑running front‑rower.
Ravai has played 13 tests for the Fiji 15s team including four games at the 2015 World Cup in England.
It is likely Ravai will be available for just a few games for Woodlands before heading off to play for Fiji in their June tests against Tonga, Samoa and Georgia.
