Tui Tavua and terminated Chairman of the Great Council of Chiefs, Ratu Ovini Bokini said he will not comment on the changes in criteria put in place by the Interim Prime Minister, which will see only installed chiefs in their respective Vanua become members of the new look GCC.

Ratu Ovini said he cannot speak on any issue which involves the GCC as their case is currently in court. Ratu Ovini and others are challenging the decision by the Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama for sacking the members of the Great council of Chiefs.

The new criteria set by the interim government, to only allow chiefs that have been traditionally installed by their respective "Vanua", to be members of the new look Great Council of Chiefs.
