Ratu Inoke attends ESCAP meeting
In a statement, Fiji Foreign Affairs Minister, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola said leaders will aim to agree on joint economic and development measures that could lead to sustained economic growth for all the countries of the region.
Ratu Inoke said also on the agenda are the achievements of the Millennium Development Goals and the promotion of a stable and supportive financial system and environmentally sustainable economic growth through technology and financing.
The annual ESCAP meet calls together government ministers and senior officials to discuss challenges confronting Asia and the Pacific, and to propose a coordinated response.
Ratu Inoke said this year's Commission session focuses on our ability to harness the economic recovery underway in Asia and the Pacific and to seek to sustainable growth through a concerted effort by governments across the region.
About 300 delegates from 62 member nations, 100 NGO representatives, and 200 reps from international organisations are attending the high level meet.
