Ratu Inoke Granted Bail Variation
Lawyers for Takiveikata along with five other former CRW soldier’s lawyers, Akuila Naco and Filimoni Vosarogo, made applications that variations be made to the bail conditions so that the six can meet the lawyers representing the other accused persons in the case.
DPP lawyer Nancy Tikoisuva did not object to this saying variation can be made as long as it is the same as that of businessman Ballu Khan and others who are also charged with the alleged assassination plot against the Interim Prime Minister and others.
High Court Judge Justice Daniel Gounder then ordered that Takiveikata along with the five CRW soldiers are now free to meet other accused person’s lawyers and the curfew placed on them will now be from 10.30pm to 5am.
They are also to report to Central Police Station every Wednesday. Meanwhile, their case regarding charges against the nine men is expected to be called for mention later this month.
