Ratu Epeli to meet Teleni
Teleni yesterday threatened to sack or replace Indo-Fijian senior officers if they continue to oppose the Police Christian Crusade and go to the media.
Ratu Epeli Ganilau said it is a serious matter because Teleni comes under his ministry and he will meet with him today to hear the real reasons behind his outburst.
The meeting is expected to take place within the next few hours.
Teleni issued a directive to the senior officers that they should not run to the media if they encounter problems adding, if they do, there is no place for them in the force.
He said they could be sacked if they were not loyal to him.
He also called them cowards and disloyal in the Fijian language.
Teleni also called the officers “liumuri” or backstabbers.
His comments to the senior Indo Fijian officers at Nasova were shot on camera from a distance by a Fiji TV cameraman.
Meanwhile, just a few minutes ago Fijivillage approached Teleni at a function asking him about his meeting with the senior officers yesterday.
Commodore Teleni said and Fijivillage quotes "you people intruded on the privacy of the Fiji Police Force and I will not make any comments at all".
Cameras and recorders started rolling when he started making the comment but Commodore Teleni then told reporters to turn off the recording equipment as everything that happened in Nasova yesterday was a private matter.
