The Interim Defense Minister has defended his decision to include the Army Commander and the Commissioner of Police in the National Security Council.
After coming under criticism for the decision, Ratu Epeli Ganilau stresses that this will ensure that the tense relations between the two disciplined forces which arose prior to December 5th, 2006, does not happen in the future.
The relevant laws will soon be promulgated to establish the National Security Council whose members will be the Prime Minister, the Commander RFMF, Attorney General, Minister responsible for Defense, Minister for Finance and the Police Commissioner.
