Interim Minister for Indigenous Affairs and the Chairman of the Great Council of Chiefs has now started his own consultations with various Chiefs around the country who continue to oppose the formation of the new look GCC to try and convince them to come onboard.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau said certain protocols need to be followed which he has initiated to ensure all 14 provinces agree to join the Great Council of Chiefs.
Meanwhile, Ratu Epeli has also revealed that Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama has now invited the Chiefs from the 14 provinces to participate in a special sitting of the Bose ni Turaga as he wants to personally speak to them and explain the reasons for the delay in the holding of elections and the recent High Court ruling.
The Bose ni Turaga, which was scheduled for later this month will now be held on the 9th and 10th of December in Suva.
