The Nausori town council said the ground at Ratu Cakobau Park may be ready by the second week of October, if grass seeds are planted by next weekend, and if the weather is fine.

Special Administrator, Napolioni Masirewa said recent bad weather conditions have delayed the implementation of the turf upgrade program.

He said the delay has also been due to the non availability of materials like planting materials and supply of sand.

He said the upgrade will cost them between $100,000 to $150,000.

We asked Masirewa if there will be repair works on the grandstand to which he said they spent around $90,000 last year for the maintenance on the two grandstands.

He said there will be no further work on the grandstands this year.
