The Fiji Sugar Corporation has stressed that the Rarawai Sugar Mill in Ba sustained more damage compared to other sugar mills in Lautoka and Rakiraki.
Chief Executive, Deo Sharan told Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama in a briefing that FSC's infrastructure was also damaged during the floods.
Sharan said the Rarawai mill is inaccessible at the moment.
He adds the cane access road, Irish crossing bridges also sustained damages.
According to Sharan, their priority has been slightly shifted in time to complete upgrading work on the mill before the start of the crushing season to allow and ensure they start on time and identify the portion to be repaired.
