The Blues winger Rene Ranger has been cited following a dangerous tackle in their 29-23 Super Rugby win over the Bulls in Pretoria this morning.

Ranger was yellow and white carded after tackling the Bulls winger Bjorn Basson while he crossed for a try late in the game.

The Blues are already short of backs in South Africa and another player is likely to be called up ahead of next weekend's match against the Stormers in Cape Town.

Looking at other results, the Sharks claimed their first win of the 2012 with a 32-20 victory over the Lions, the Reds wriggled free with an 11-6 victory over the Rebels, Highlanders remain unbeaten after edging the Waratahs 18-17 while the Brumbies beat the Cheetahs 24-23.

Going to the points table, the Reds are currently leading followed by the Highlanders in second place, than the Stormers while the Brumbies lie in fourth spot.
