The people in the rural areas of Rakiraki have started to feel the brunt of the dry season as many wells and boreholes have starting drying up.

A social worker and cane farmer Ganga Dharan said the dry spell is also affecting the cane farmers who also have to feed cane cutters and get water from the tanks put up by the government.

However Ganga Dharan has thanked the government for its timely assistance.
