Resident Sanjeet Maharaj said it is raining heavily and matters could get worse with the high tide in the evening.
Meanwhile, Tavua Town Mayor Chandra Singh said they are closely monitoring the situation as it has started to rain heavily.
Chandra Singh has also advised residents to stay at home.
Meanwhile, resident Ritu Nair said the situation will get worse this afternoon if the rain continues.
