The Fiji Football Association President said Northern Vice President, Dewan Chand will lose his position if he fails to attend three Fiji FA board meetings.

Dewan Chand, charged with two counts of defilement of a Class Eight student in 2010, was convicted and sentenced to seven years imprisonment with three years of the sentence suspended. 

He will serve the four year sentence behind bars.

When asked if Chand who is convicted and imprisoned will lose his position with Fiji FA, Fiji FA President, Rajesh Patel said they will wait for his appeal outcome.

Patel said he cannot tell when the next three board meetings will be held but he did confirm there are five or six board meetings in a year and that will happen in due course.
