Fiji Sports Council Co-Chairman Rajendra Chaudhry has stressed that he has not resigned from his post and has voluntarily stepped aside until the case brought against him is dealt with by the court.
Chaudhry told FijiVillage that he intended to resume office once his name is cleared.
Chaudhry said he would then initiate a counter legal action against FICAC.
Chaudhry was charged by FICAC with allegedly obstructing an Officer of the Fiji Independant Commission Against Corruption.
It is alleged that on April 10th, 2008 Chaudhry willfully obstructed FICAC Officer Loraini Seru in the execution of her duty by preventing access to a witness, namely Losalini Waqausa, who is charged along with Chaudhry.
