“My early morning sacrifice has paid off.”
These are the words of 15 year old Praneel Raj who won a gold medal for Baulevu High School in the Junior Boys 1500 metres at the Triple N Zone competition.
The long distance runner was on cloud nine when he beat his opponents from big schools like Lelean and Sila Central College.
Raj clocked the time of 4 minutes and 47 seconds and is confident about improving his performance during the Coca-Cola Games
Currently underway is the 400 and 100 metre heats.
The final is expected to be held in the afternoon with the 100 metres closing the competition.
Looking at the medal tally, Waidina Secondary School is leading the boys division with 2 Gold while Baulevu High School is at second place with 1 Gold.
Adi Cakobau School is leading the girls division with 1 Gold, Sila Central is second with 1 Silver while Sarasawati College is in third place with 1 Bronze.
