The Rangataua rugby 7s team is ready to take on the best clubs in Fiji and Oceania when the fifth Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast 7s kicks off at Lawaqa Park next week.
Rangataua won the right to play in Fiji by winning the Middlesex Club Sevens national title in New Zealand earlier this year.
Team coach and former All Blacks Sevens captain Matua Parkinson is not predicting anything as he knows from past experience that any Fijian team is capable of winning.
Rangataua are in Pool C with Naviti, Wardens Green and the Suva Stallions.
Parkinson said taking on Wardens in pool play will be tough but they are not here to make up the numbers.
Other overseas teams in the tournament include Samoan champions Lauli’i Lions, Serevi Selects from Seattle, coached by sevens legend Waisale Serevi, and the Papua New Guinea men’s team.
The Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast 7s kicks off next Thursday with Gecko’s Lomaiviti taking on Red Rock at 8.30am.
