Digicel Fiji 7s coach Alifereti Dere believes Joji Ragamate will deliver as expected at the Scotland and England 7s tournaments.
Dere said he has seen some positive changes in Ragamate.
The national side will leave for Scotland next Monday morning and they are pooled with Australia, Argentina and Spain.
Meanwhile, New Zealand sevens captain DJ Forbes has been ruled out from the Scotland and England leg.
Forbes failed to recover from a foot injury sustained at the Japan 7s tournament.
In addition to Forbes, Toby Arnold, Sam Dickson, Mark Jackman and David Raikuna were also not considered because of injury.
Returning from injury are Tomasi Cama, Kurt Baker and Scott Curry.
Tim Mikkelson will take over as captain and 20 year old back Pita Ahki is the only new cap to the New Zealand 7s.
The Scotland 7s will be held next Saturday and Sunday.
