The Taukei Movement leader during and after the 1987 coup and current member of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji (NCBBF) Ratu Meli Vesikula said racial politics has weakened Fiji for too long and the draft People's Charter will ensure that every division is eradicated.
While speaking during the draft Charter consultation at the Nausori Parish Hall last night, Ratu Meli said the communal electoral system definitely needs to be abolished if the country is to be united.
Ratu Meli Vesikula also said Fiji needed a common name for all its citizens.
60 people attended the consultation program at the Nausori Parish Hall.
