A former Prime Minister, a former senior civil servant and two sitting parliamentarians are vying for the SODELPA Leader's post.
Fijivillage has received confirmation from SODELPA that Sitiveni Rabuka, Anare Jale, Ratu Isoa Tikoca and Viliame Gavoka are in the running for the party leader’s election on June 25th.
SODELPA’s Interim General Secretary, Adi Litia Qionibaravi said the four are in the running subject to compliance to the Political Parties Registration Decree.
Current party leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa has already announced that she will not contest the post.
This means that she will continue to be the Parliamentary Leader while the new elected party leader will lead the SODELPA’s preparations for the 2018 elections.
This change in SODELPA’s constitution was approved in the party’s general assembly.
