The former Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka said he would also support a non-race-based electrol system for the next elections, however, he stressed that an only elected Government can make changes to the electrol system.
Rabuka said the Interim Government cannot make changes through the People's Charter because the 1997 Constitution is still in place.
The National Federation Party General Secretary Pramod Rae said they would only comment on the issue when the intiative shown by the Interim Goverment will seem to come into effect.
Earlier today Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry had stressed that he supports a non race based electoral system for the next elections and the Fiji Labour Party fully support the idea to change the voting system.
