“He is one of the players that the forwards always look to in a match.”
Those were the words of Alivereti Mocelutu, one of the players who played with the late Seru Rabeni in the national side in the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
Mocelutu says Rabeni’s physicality and bone crunching tackles had earned him the nickname “Rambo”.
He says former national reps and the Fiji Rugby Union officials will be presenting their reguregu on Friday.
Former captain Mosese Rauluni and other reps who featured in the 2003 and 2007 World Cup tournaments will be among the delegates to present their reguregu in Vereta Wailevu Village in Nausori.
The funeral service will be held at Verata Wailevu Village.
Rabeni will be laid to rest this Saturday.
He is survived by his wife and two children aged 7 and 4 years.
