Leed's Fijian centre Seru Rabeni has signed for two seasons with French second division side La Rochelle, who play the final for promotion to the Top 14 next seasons on Sunday.

Rabeni, 31, played for five seasons with Leicester from 2004, reaching the European Cup final in 2007.

Targetted by Brive and Racing Metro, Rabeni, who has 33 caps for the national side, opted to join Fijian teammate Norman Ligairi at La Rochelle.

Rabeni meanwhile has been named on the reserve bench in the Digicel Fiji Sevens team to play Canada in their opening pool match at the England Sevens tournament tonight.

Fiji / Canada match will kickoff at 10:14pm today.

Fiji's other pool games will be tomorrow morning.

They take on France at 1:20am and South Africa at 5:44am.
