Former FMF Chow Games champions, Ra is aiming for a comeback in this year’s annual event and are aiming to bring back "lost glory" that the District was once known for.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Ra athletics team coordinator Anasa Nasedra said that they are confident that the 80 athletes they have is the best and will do them proud.
Nasedra added that Ra has been forced to reduce their squad by 60 due to financial constraints.
Ra dominated the track events in the past years and took out both the Girls and Boys overall winners in 2004.
A total of 17 Districts will be taking part in the two day tournament namely Tonga, Suva, Nasinu, Rewa, Ra, Serua/Beqa, Namosi, Naitasiri, Tailevu North/Wainibuka now joining up, Nadi, Lautoka, Cakaudrove, Bua/Macuata, Taveuni, Kadavu and Koro.
Tonga will be bringing in 27 athletes and 5 officials.
The FMF Chow Games will be held at the TFL stadium on Friday and Saturday.
