A number of World Cup winning All Blacks will be on display when the Blues host the Crusaders for the opening game of the Super Rugby on Friday night.
The Crusaders will have the likes of the Franks brothers Owen and Ben, Sam Whitelock, captain Kieran Read, Andy Ellis and Israel Dagg while the Blues will be led by Kevin Mealamu, Ali Williams, Piri Weepu, Ma’a Nonu, Isaia Toeava and Jerome Kaino in their line-up.
But with Dan Carter injured, rookie Tyler Bleyendaal will make his long awaited debut for the Crusaders and he knows he has big boots to fill.
After falling short in the final last year, the Crusaders stand in captain, Kieran Read wants to go one better this season.
In the opening game on Friday the Crusaders take on the Blues at Eden Park at 6.35pm.
At 8.40pm the Brumbies will face Western Force.
