They were once the dominant school in the Coca Cola Deans trophy rugby competition but for the past 5 years Ratu Kadavulevu School has struggled to maintain their status in the secondary school rugby.
Last year it was one of their worst outings where they lost to Nasinu Secondary in the quarter final after finishing 3rd from the Eastern Zone.
But the start of this season brought a lot of hope to the boys from Lodoni after they ended defending champion's Lelean unbeaten run in their zone and also winning the number one spot to the quarter finals.
Team official, Mesake Tukai said the strength in the team lies with the players who have been playing together from the U-14 grade and they understand each other’s game well.
Tukai said they will not underestimate their opponent John Wesley who is in the quarter final for the first time.
The U-19 grade quarter finals kicks-off on Saturday.
At 12.20pm, Nasinu takes on Sila Central, RKS faces John Wesley at 1.40pm, at 3pm Ratu Navula plays Suva Grammar and in the feature match at 4.20pm defending champion Lelean is up against Lomawai.
You can catch the live commentaries of the Ratu Navula and Suva Grammar match at 3pm and also the Lelean and Lomawai game at 4pm on our sister station Viti FM.
