Last year’s Coca-Cola Zero Deans losing finalist Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) is aiming to go another step up this year when they take on Lomawai Secondary School in their quarterfinal on Saturday.
The last time the boys from Delainakaikai were the outright winner of the Deans trophy was in 2002 although they shared the win with Suva Grammar in 2005 after they drew 17 all in the final.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Head Coach Uraia Toribau said the RKS side has lifted their preparations knowing that Lomawai will not be an easy opponent.
Meanwhile, this week’s Deans quarterfinals will start on Friday at 8am with the Tier 2 competition.
Gates at the National Stadium on Friday will open at 8am and on Saturday at 8.30am for the Tier 1 quarterfinals.
In the Tier 1 U-19 grade quarterfinals, Lelean will take on Marist, RKS faces Lomawai Secondary, Ratu Navula up against Nasinu and in the feature match at 3.30pm QVS will play Suva Grammar.
