Ratu Kadavulevu School Principal - George Tabua has denied reports of unrest at the school by police and that 35 students were expelled last week for allegedly taking the law into their hands.

When contacted by Fijivillage news this afternoon, Tabua claims that there is no such tension at the school and that activities were going about as normal.

Tabua also confirmed that only 5 students were expelled and not 35 as earlier indicated by police.

However Police Spokesperson Atu Sokomuri said Police are now consistently patrolling the school premises to keep the situation calm.

Sokomuri said the senior students were expelled after they allegedly assaulted other students who they alleged were involved in theft cases.

Deputy Secretary for Education Ram Chandar said they will not comment on the matter at this stage.
