The Fiji Military Forces is expected to make a statement regarding Navy Commander Francis Kean's future in the Navy this week after he was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment on a charge of manslaughter on Friday.

Military Spokesperson, Lt Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga confirms their legal department has been looking into Kean's case and Military Legal Director, Colonel Mohammed Aziz is expected to make an official statement on Kean's status in the RFMF.

However, Lt. Colonel Tkoitoga said that they have to also consider the statement by Kean's lawyer, Haroon Ali Shah that they will appeal against the conviction, as they have to also take that into consideration.
