The military is likely to appeal Justice Thomas Hickie's decision where he ordered the office of the Army Commander to pay over $65,000 for damages sustained by a Monasavu landowner Senitiki Naqa who was beaten by soldiers in August 2000.

A senior military lawyer confirmed to Fijivillage outside court today that they are currently assessing the judgment before taking the matter again to the Fiji Court of Appeal.

Senitiki Naqa's lawyer Sevuloni Valenitabua said the judgment is against the Office of the Commander and the military will foot the bill and not Commodore Bainimarama.
