The Republic of Fiji Military Forces will support the government that will come into power after the 2014 election.

Addressing officers and soldiers in the i-taukei language at the first Commander's military parade at Queen Elizabeth Barracks today, Commodore Bainimarama said that their role must be made clear and with the PER lifted, the army will always work together with police to maintain law and order in the country.

He added that as soldiers they have to remind their families that under the Public Order Amendment Decree 2012 any person who tries to incite instability will be dealt with accordingly.

The Army Commander stressed the parade not to be tempted by those from outside or from former army officers.
