Army Commander, Brigadier General Mosese Tikoitoga has assured the Public Accounts Committee that the RFMF has put in place proper procedures and the institution has remained within budget since 2010.
While speaking before the committee today, Brigadier General Tikoitoga said 2008 was a high tempo year and there were purchases done by the military without Purchase Orders.
The Commander said all the systems are in place and they also have an internal audit team.
Brigadier General Tikoitoga also said that they have signed ten year contracts with Dahia Shoes to provide boots and shoes, and United Apparel to provide uniforms.
The Auditor General’s Office also asked for internal private funds to be made available for audit purposes.
The Army Commander has agreed to open up these books however he asked for specific private funds as they have a long list of private funds.
Police Commissioner, Ben Groenewald is currently giving information before the Public Accounts Committee.
