Over the last 15 years timber production has fallen notably however this can all change if stakeholders work together to enhance the capacity of resource owners.

Reserve Bank Governor Sada Reddy while speaking at the Fiji Institute of Accountants seminar at the Shagri-La Fijian Resort revealed that timber production has fell significantly since 1995 and in order to reach similar levels, output would need to increase by 150,000 cubic meters per year.

Reddy said changes need to be made within the industry to help generate much needed revenue for Fiji.
