It will be a very quiet Fathers Day for 80 year old, Josese Gauna from Lomaloma, Vanuabalavu, who now resides at the Old People’s Home in Samabula.

Gauna was touched when Fijivillage asked him of his plans for "Fathers Day", he slowly wiped the tears from his eyes and said  he does not expect any surprises, as his wife has divorced him, and now resides in Australia, and does not have any kids to bring him gifts.

Soft spoken Gauna added the last time his relatives visited him was Christmas last year, they said they would come back during Easter, but he only waited in vain at the Home gates and as a result does not trust them anymore.

The Lomolomo native has asked if his relatives can pay him a visit, especially on Father’s Day tomorrow, as he believes the ward attendants cannot fulfill all their needs, and at times he may need someone from his family to console him and be with him.

Father’s Day will be celebrated tomorrow all over Fiji.
