Quick response by police led to the arrest of a 27 year old man after he robbed a 28 year old woman of cash, mobile fones, assorted jewellery and other items worth about $10,000 in Vatuwaqa yesterday.

Assistant PRO Corporal Suliano Tevita said the woman was asleep when the man with his accomplices forcibly entered and threatened her with a cane knife and iron rod before ransacking the house.

A Police team responded to the complaint immediately and arrested the suspect from a nearby settlement recovering jewellery worth $8000. He has been charged with robbery with violence and will be appearing in court soon.
