The Queens Highway is closed to traffic in a number of areas due to flooding between Suva and Nadi.

Director Roads Paula Baleilevuka also confirms that while the Kings Highway and the Highway between Savusavu and Labasa remain open for now, all motorists are urged to try and refrain from travelling on these roads for the time being.

He confirms that the Queens highway is closed at Navua and at the approach to Nadi due to flooding.

 
The Public Works Department has called on the public to exercise caution as they have closed various roads along the Kings Highway.

Nanendra Rama from the Divisional Engineer Central / Eastern said that flood waters have forced them to take such actions.

The newly constructed Wailotua Bridge is closed after strong winds caused the beam to collapse.
