The Queen will be happy at the initiative by the Interim Government to continue celebrating her official birthday despite being suspended from the Commonwealth.
That is the comment from the British High Commissioner, Roger Sykes on the Queen's Birthday celebration. Speaking to Fijivillage news, Sykes said that even though Fiji still remains suspended from the Commonwealth, celebrating the Queens Birthday will only better the relationship between the two countries.
Sykes also adds that Fiji is at a better advantage.
Today has been set aside for the country to commemorate the Queen of England's birthday and this has been met with approval from the British High Commission.
In the United Kingdom, the Queens Birthday is celebrated officially on the first, second and even the third Saturday in June even though her original birthday falls on the 21st of April.
Countries throughout the Commonwealth all have different forms of remembering the Queen's Birthday.
