Quick action from the National Fire Authority saved a four flat residential building at River Road, Nausori from being completely razed to the ground at nine o'clock last night.

The National Fire Authority's Station Officer Nausori Soro Korobiau said that investigation shows that the fire started from a lit mosquito coil put under a bed in one of the flats.

He said the Nausori fire crew fought hard to contain the fire and stopped it from spreading to a nearby fuel station and bakery store. He says the support from the volunteer firefighters who turned out in good numbers help stop the potentially great disaster.

He said the building that belongs to Naren Prasad residing in USA sustained 50% damages.
