The trial of former Prime Minister and former Director of Fijian Holdings Limited, Laisenia Qarase is set to start on the 3rd of July.

Qarase faces six counts of abuse of office and three counts of discharge of duty with respect to property in which he has a private interest.

Qoriniasi Bale who earlier appeared for Qarase before Justice Daniel Gounder said that they have managed to find an overseas counsel from North Australia.

The trial is expected to take four weeks.

The pre-trial conference will take place this Friday.
