The Interim Prime Minister has today stressed that Ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase should understand that Qarase and the SDL party will never come back into power.
Commodore Frank Bainimarama said the military has made up its mind and the decision will not change despite earlier comments by Qarase that he will contest the next election because it is his democratic right.
SDL National Director Peceli Kinivuwai said they will not comment any further after the Public Emergency Regulation was invoked yesterday.
When contacted last night, Kinivuwai said and I quote "this thing started because of our comments so we will not comment anymore" end of quote.
Meanwhile, the Interim Attorney General is hoping that the international community would understand the reasons why the interim government has invoked the Public Emergency Regulations.
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said critics must understand that it is necessary to have the regulation in place.
Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama confirmed earlier that the regulation has been invoked following the recent public statements of Ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase and SDL National Director, Peceli Kinivuwai.
Qarase said earlier that he will not comment at this stage.
