High Court Judges, Justice Anthony Gates and Justice John Byrnes, this afternoon declined the application for a deferment of the Ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase's hearing, filed by his legal Counsel, Tevita Fa.
Fa had earlier asked for a deferment of the hearing to the 9th of this month as their Queen's Counsel, Steven Gagler was unable to attend the case tomorrow as he is currently attending to another case in Sydney.
Although the application filed was declined, Justice Gates stated that the hearing proper would commence this Thursday instead of tomorrow.
Fa stated that the two day leeway would help in the case and he also revealed that they had asked Gagler to find a QC Replacement for the case.
Justice Gates told the court that the hearing would commence on Thursday as it was very important for Gagler to be present and added that the two day leeway period would allow the prosecution to fine tune their case.
