The hearing on the consolidation of the charges against Former Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase and former CEO of Fiji Holdings Limited, Sitiveni Weleilakeba will now take place on the 21st of May.
Both appeared before Justice Daniel Goundar this morning however, Weleilakeba's lawyer, Caesar Lateef was not present in court due to other commitments.
Weleilakeba was represented by Paul Yaqona who made an application for the case to be adjourned.
FICAC lawyer, Laisa Lagilevu did not object to this saying she would be ready for the hearing in May.
On the 20th of January this year, Lagilevu had told the Suva High Court that FICAC has evidence to show that Laisenia Qarase had been paid Class A dividends from Fijian Holdings Limited.
Weleilakeba and Qarase were charged for the same offence which is 'Conspiracy to Effect an Unlawful Purpose that is to Contravene the provisions of the Companies Act'.
