The ousted Prime Minister today refuted claims by the Fiji Human Rights Commission chairperson Doctor Shaista Shameem that Fiji was in an apartheid era before the December 5 takeover.
Laisenia Qarase said that it was unfortunate that Dr Shameem made these comments without any evidence.
He said the comments are laughable and Shameem should concentrate on doing something useful.
