Ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase has now raised concern on why the Fiji Labour Party (FLP) and the Fiji Human Rights Commission (FHRC) are not saying anything to defend the SDL's right to contest the next elections.

Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama told Fijivillage earlier this week that the military and interim government will now ensure that the SDL does not contest the next elections as it continues to oppose the People's Charter and the National Council for Building a Better Fiji (NCBBF).

FLP president Jokapeci Koroi said she is part of the NCBBF and will not comment on SDL's possible exclusion.

Qarase questioned the Labour Party where are its principles to fight for democracy and the rights of political parties.
