Qarase, Chaudhry wasting their time-Leweni
Fijivillage has received confirmation that the statements from Qarase and Chaudhry, say that they are concerned about the elections to be held in 2014.
They had also proposed that an exit strategy for the military be discussed by this October, the Presidential Political Dialogue Forum to resume this month and electoral reforms to be confirmed by October this year.
Qarase and Chaudhry had also recommended to the Pacific Islands Forum leaders that free, fair and credible elections be held by October 2010.
Permanent Secretary for Information Lieutenant Colonel Neumi Leweni said the roadmap is clear that elections in Fiji will be held in 2014.
Lieutenant Colonel Leweni said he also does not understand why Qarase and Chaudhry released the joint statement.
When Fijivillage called Chaudhry, he only confirmed that they had sent out the joint statements.
Chaudhry said the contents of the joint statement to the Forum was only meant for the leaders' eyes, and he will not reveal anything.
