Ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court this morning after he was earlier charged with four counts of abuse of office.

After the second phase disclosures were served, Qarase's lawyer Peniana Salele asked Magistrate Aminiasi Rokotuinaviti to adjourn the case toward the end of August as Qarase will be away from Suva during this time.

Magistrate Rokotuinaviti has adjourned the case to the 27th of August for mention.

A hearing date is expected to be fixed on this day.
