Exactly nine years to the day today, the paramount chief of Naitasiri, Ratu Inoke Takiveikata appeared in the High Court in relation to charges of mutiny on November 2nd, 2000.

Ratu Inoke Takiveikata, charged with inciting mutiny in 2000 was today, through his lawyer Akuila Naco granted three more weeks to find overseas counsel for himself.

This was granted by Judge Justice Daniel Gounder who said this should be enough time to see if overseas counsel is available.

The court heard that on the 16th of April 2000 and 24th of September 2000, the Qaranivalu attempted to incite some people to commit a mutinous act in taking over the Queen Elizabeth Barracks.

The case has been adjourned to November 16th where a decision on a trial date will be set.
