QVS wins appeal to clinch Tailevu Zone
Zone Delegate Waisiki Koroivula says the QVS inter boys relay team was disqualified since the first runner was not registered as one of the six members of the rely team according to rules of the Zone competition 2013 number 1.
The disqualification saw RKS clinch the title.
But Koroivula said the disqualification was not successful as the rules of competition number 9 was circulating during school delegation meeting at RKS before the game which restricted relay entries to four competitors per relay event and any replacement may be drawn from athletes already entered in other events.
According to Koroivula however any school that has only a relay team and no other competitors for individual events may enter six athletes.
QVS now wins the boys division by 18 gold, 16 silver while RKS came in second place with 17 gold and 17 silver.
