The Queen Victoria School under 19 side is through to the quarterfinals of the Tuckers Ice Cream Secondary Schools Basketball Championship.

This is after QVS beat Tilak High School in their last pool match by 13-10.

Yesterday QVS defeated Nasinu Secondary 22-17.

In just their second year in the tournament, QVS has managed to qualify for the quarters while their under 15 side was the first team to book a semifinal spot yesterday.

The other quarterfinalists include defending champion Marist Brothers High School, Laucala Bay Secondary, Natabua High School, LDS, Lautoka Central College, John Wesley College and Yat Sen Secondary.

The under 19 boys quarterfinals will start at 3:40pm.

Looking at other under 19 boys results from this morning, LDS beat Lautoka Central 42-38, Laucala Bay Secondary thumped RSMS 50-5 while Natabua High School beat Suva Grammar 24-13.

In the under 17 boys, LDS proved too strong for Ba Provincial Freebird Institute winning 29-16 while Jai Narayan College pipped QVS 14-13.
