Boasted as one of the best scenic drives in Suva and a location where hundreds of families spend time by the seawall, Queen Elizabeth Drive is now a sight for sore eyes with construction work underway since May.
However, the Suva City Council Administrator Vijendra Prakash said this is part of the bigger plans to upgrade the area and there are also issues regarding land leases to be dealt with.
Prakash maintains that Mother Nature should be blamed for the delays.
It has been noticed that on certain days no works are done on the road and there are days when 7 to 8 workers are seen digging with spades at certain spots.
