The Papua New Guinea's National rugby union side the PukPuks will play a friendly against Pacific Rugby Cup side, the Fiji Warriors, next month.

The June 7 game is a curtain raiser to the Nations Cup clash between Fiji and Samoa at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

PNG Rugby chief Graeme Osborne said the aim to play is to gain entry to the second tier rugby competition.

Osborne said they hope to get into the IRB Pacific Rugby Cup in 2009 and to win against Niue and win the Oceania Cup.

He said by playing against the Fiji Warriors, they will get the opportunity to show that they deserve to be in the Pacific Rugby Cup competition.
